Microblading pre-care

2 WEEKS PRIOR

Botox/Dysport: should be done AT LEAST 2 weeks prior to your appointment. We want to wait until the Botox is completely settled in the skin before moving forward with your session.

Waxing/Tinting: try and have your most recent wax/tint about 2 weeks before. This allows your brows to begin growing in so we can see what your natural brow shape is and how your hair pattern grows.

Retin-A/Retinol/AHA’s/BHA’s: avoid the use of those mentioned or any other chemical exfoliant for 2 weeks before. These chemical exfoliants thin the skin and increase skin cell turnover which can lead to the pigment fading more quickly.

Sunburns: avoid the use of tanning beds and/or heavy sun exposure on the face.

Chemical Peels/Laser Treatments: chemical peels and often laser treatments are forms of heavy skin exfoliation and resurfacing. Allow for AT LEAST 2 weeks in between any of these treatments before scheduling your appointment.

24 HOURS PRIOR/DAY OF

To minimize bleeding during the procedure, DO NOT take or drink: alcohol, excessive caffeine, Aspirin/Ibuprofen, Omega-3, Fish oil, or any other blood thinning medication (unless deemed medically necessary by a doctor).

Exercising: exercising increases the blood flow in the body and will cause excessive bleeding during your procedure, which can lead to poor healed results.

TIPS FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT

Map out directions to the studio. I sometimes have appointments booked back-to-back. I want to make sure that we have plenty of time to get you the brows you want! Please take into consideration the time of day your appointment is and factor in for potential traffic.

You will not be able to get your brows wet for awhile, so I recommend washing your hair beforehand to give yourself a few extra “no hair wash” days.

Makeup! You are more than welcome to come in wearing your brows how you usually do, and feel free to even bring your brow products. We will be cleaning your brows prior to beginning your service, but it gives me a good idea of what you are used to.

Relax. This appointment is a team effort. I promise I will never begin working on your brows until you give me the green light. You will get to see the outline/shape of what we are going to do before we start, and I am here to discuss any questions you may have.

Music/headphones: You are more than welcome to bring in your headphones to zone out while you are here. I promise I will not be offended! Once our initial consultation/mapping out is done, you are free to lay back and relax, if you wish.
